Latavius Murray didn’t touch the ball on Oakland’s opening drive until he was handed the ball on the final play. Then, he ran 22 yards up the middle for a touchdown to put the Raiders ahead to stay. Carr also tossed a 19-yard TD pass to Seth Roberts late in the second quarter against a Tennessee defense that had allowed only one offensive TD through the first two games.
NFL RECORD: Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski became the NFL’s career leader in field goals made from 50 yards and out when he connected from 52 with 8:13 left in the second quarter. He gave the Raiders a 10-3 lead on the 53rd field goal of 50 or more yards for the 17-year veteran, which broke a tie with Jason Hanson, who had 52 such field goals in 21 NFL seasons. His field goal came after a holding penalty wiped out a TD pass by Carr.
The former Sooner was barred from this year’s NFL Scouting Combine under a conduct policy, and is viewed as undraftable by some clubs, per NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. Mixon punched a female OU student in 2014 and was charged with acts resulting in gross injury. The case was settled with a plea agreement, and Mixon, who was suspended for the 2014 season, served one year of probation, counseling, and 100 hours of community service.
He was rated the No. 5 RB available in NFL Network draft expert Mike Mayock’s initial positional rankings, but fell out of the RB rankings and was moved to a special exceptions category in Mayock’s latest rankings, which were released on Tuesday.
An established ace on kickoffs, Patterson told me in January that his next destination would have to promise him a role within the offense as well — something the Vikings struggled to do over Patterson’s first four seasons. In 2016 he caught 52 balls for 453 yards and two touchdowns — his best year since 2013 when he caught 45 passes for 469 yards and four touchdowns.
“Two years I spent damn near on the sideline,” he said. “That’s never a good feeling for any player. No player wants to go through that,” he said. “I need to know if I’m going to play or not. If not, I’ll take my talents elsewhere.”
Manuel will serve as depth in the quarterback room behind starter Derek Carr. While the Raiders also have second-year arm Connor Cook, adding Manuel all but guarantees Matt McGloin is headed out of Oakland for good.
Manuel was nothing short of a major disappointment for the Bills, who made the former Florida State star the 16th overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. In Oakland, he’s no guarantee to beat out Cook for the No. 2 role.
On Tuesday, the Oakland City Council and nfl jerseys cheap and Alameda County Board of Supervisors will vote on a proposed term sheet for the $1.3-billion stadium. Mayor Libby Schaaf said the agreement “puts Oakland in the running to keep the Raiders in a way that is responsible.”
On Wednesday, the NFL has a league meeting in Dallas, where the issue is expected to be addressed. This comes at time when the Raiders have their eyes on Las Vegas, with the Nevada Legislature having approved $750 million in public funding. The Raiders have not commented on the term sheet from the developers, including Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, a group that would contribute $400 million toward the stadium.
The move was anticipated. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday the Raiders would file their relocation paperwork within days. It is the first step in a relocation process that won’t become official until the Raiders receive 24 votes from NFL owners to formally make the move.
The Raiders had until Feb. 15 to file relocation papers. NFL owners could vote on the team’s relocation proposal at the Annual League Meeting in March, per Rapoport.
